Sometimes having all the bells and whistles of a large wedding can feel like more of a performance, rather than the focus being on what the day is truly about. Having a small wedding allowed Cameron and Kathleen to focus on the small details that were important to them. One of the best parts about having an intimate wedding is that it gives you the flexibility to keep things low stress and just focus on the two of you to just enjoy the day. With the nearest and dearest by their side the couple said their vows and celebrated their marriage with breathtaking views of the Sandia Mountains and the beautiful summer sky of New Mexico as their backdrop. Cameron and Kathleen were such a fun laid- back couple and that was reflected perfectly in their small intimate outdoor wedding.

They say that true happiness is being married to your best friend and that couldn’t be more true for Taylor and Mike.

Just like any other Saturday, Taylor and Mike each decided to attend a UNM football game. Little did they know this wouldn’t be just any other football game, but it would be the football game where they would be introduced to the person they were going to marry. Taylor and Mike immediately hit it off and have been inseparable ever since.  From the bride, “I know it’s cheesy to say- but we really do complete each other, and are best friends.”

When choosing a venue Taylor and Mike knew they wanted something in town because the majority of their guests were local, but they also wanted a venue that was unique and featured breathtaking views of the mountains! From Taylor, “one of the main reasons we chose The Event Center at Sandia Golf Club was because of its location. The Event Center is the best venue in New Mexico in my opinion! You can't beat the views, and location. The ballroom is stunning- and they really paid attention to all the details- even the bathrooms are amazingly gorgeous!”

The touches of traditional and elegant décor truly created a romantic and timeless feel for Taylor and Mike’s wedding. For their wedding colors, Taylor and Mike choose to not limit themselves, but had multiple colors incorporated in the design of their wedding. The overall color palette featured touches of rose gold, blush tones and hints of ivory and champagne. They also added a whimsical hanging floral curtain to the backdrop of their ceremony, which created the look that the floral was floating in air. For the reception Convention Services of the Southwest created a stunning backdrop behind the head table, using the same soft color tones of the wedding and adding up-lighting to create an even more dramatic look. All of these details combing to make one stunning day.

From the bride, "The most memorable part of the wedding- was the entire thing! From early in the morning getting ready to the end of the night! The bridesmaids and I did a day at the spa, before getting ready, which was a great decision. It was so nice to relax and get ready for the day with all of my girls stress free!"

The ceremony was also so incredibly special because Mike's father served as the officiant for the wedding. From the bride and groom, "He did such an amazing job, and it was so special for us to have him be a part of that moment." Both Taylor and Mike felt that the entire day was just perfect! When we asked them what they loved most about thier wedding day, they told us "It was such much fun seeing all of our friends and family there to support us! Everyone had such an amazing time, the weather was great, the venue and views were amazing, we danced all night, the entire night really was just magical!"

Taylor's advice to future brides planning their weddings, Have fun!! You are getting MARRIED!! Don’t forget that’s what it’s all about. It can be easy to get caught up in the little things, but remember why you’re getting married. She also had one great piece of advice that we couldn't agree with..."PINTEREST is your best friend, lol- use it for ideas!"

Mike and Taylor we can't thank you enough for letting us be a part of your special day!
